Hi, I'd like to welcome you to our new forum for commercial fishermen in the Gulf of Mexico or any where else in the world.
Topics to start can be any where from IFQ's, snapper or grouper, to the upcoming council meeting, 30B or amendment 29 or any thing of interest to you related to commercial fishing.

Hi, I am a grass roots worker who started trying to save my own fishing community. However, I have become concerned about the VMS problem throughout US waters. I and my fishing friends here appreciate your lawsuit and wish to encourage it. In the meantime I think we should consider the possibility that the new administration might give us some relief. After all the Councils come under administrative law and the Secretary of Commerce. Therefore I have posted an informal petition to the President and other influential folks at the bottom of the page at:

Please considering downloading a copy and circulating it. I hope all copies will be returned to my address at the top of the petition sometime during April. We have already had a significant success regarding license issues using a similar document (but sent to our regional council). So, resistance is not always futile. Mac
